West Bengal Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari held a special exhibition organised at the Biswa Bangla Convention Centre to mark 12 years of the Narendra Modi-led government. In the event, Adhikari hailed PM Modi’s leadership and highlighted the achievements of the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) government over the past decade.

Describing PM Modi as “the greatest leader in the world”, Adhikari said the Prime Minister has played a pivotal role in rebuilding India and transforming the country’s development landscape. He noted that Modi has completed 12 years and two days in office and continues to see himself as a servant of the nation rather than merely its Prime Minister.

“Narendra Modi has created a record as Prime Minister. It was under his vision that various welfare schemes like the Awas Yojana and the Anna Suraksha Yojana came into fruition. It is under his leadership that the country has witnesses comprehensive development,” the Chief Minister said.

Lauding the Prime Minister for his dedication to the nation, Adhikari further said, “Our Prime Minister, Narendra Damodardas Modi, the world’s greatest leader, has served the nation as Prime Minister for the longest consecutive period. He has rebuilt India. He prefers to identify himself as a ‘servant of the nation’ rather than as Prime Minister, and he continues to work tirelessly for the country.”

The Chief Minister underlined that the core theme of the NDA government’s tenure has been nation-building, advancing development without tampering with India’s rich heritage.

Listing out the various milestones achieved by the Narendra Modi government, Adhikari said that 400,000 kilometers of paved roads have been constructed, 164 Vande Bharat Express trains have been introduced, India has now become the second-largest mobile phone manufacturing nation, free rations are being provided to 820 million people, and milk production in the country has increased by 61.8 percent.

Furthermore, the Chief Minister asserted that the NDA government has worked tirelessly in the infrastructure sector right from the construction of new airports to the establishment of key institutions like new IITs and AIIMS.

Speaking about the benefits of having a government led by the same party at the state and the Centre, Adhikari said, “You are already reaping the benefits of the ‘double-engine’ government, and you will continue to do so. It will not be us, but you who will become the champions of this double-engine government.”

Enrolling over 10 million people in the Ayushman scheme is one of the key achievements of the double-engine government, the Chief Minister said.

“The Prime Minister has realised the dream of modernising the railways. People in the country’s remote areas have also seen development under his leadership. The contrast between India in 2014 and where it stands in 2026 is stark. Our goal is a ‘Viksit Bharat’ (Developed India) by 2047,” he said.
